INSPIRATION IMAGES AND DIRECTION

A combination of the client, the architect or interior designer, and us at Orange Chair collaborate to choose an upholstery and furniture style to elegantly fill the space.

For this space we decided on a simple channeled back with the chosen fabric.

PROVIDED SITE DRAWINGS

Site drawings are provided by the architects we work with. It is common for us to visit the site and take our own measurements, in this case we did. Our measurements differed slightly from those provided. I used our measurements and our standard tolerances to model each unit for a perfect fit.

SHOP DRAWINGS

The first step in making our designs a reality is creating shop drawings with accurate dimensions. Often I model the space to exact scale to see each unit in it's respective location in the space.

Often multiple iterations of these drawings are made with small changes between them. Once we receive approval of our drawings we dive into modeling the internals.

CAD MODELLING

Once our drawings receive approval from the client and architect, we model each part of the unit.

Units typically consist of four parts. From bottom to top, the plinth, deck, back, and seat.

FINAL PHOTOS

Each unit is dry fit and looked over by our sewing and upholstery teams to assure all seems and

joints look right. The units are then broken back down, packed and wrapped, and stored until install.
